Koi Fish

As I’ve been carousing tattoos these last couple of days I have come across several examples of Koi Fish. These fish are beautiful, colorful, and very interesting looking. I’m not a fish person, but curiosity struck me so I had to do some research. To find out what they stood for and so on. I found it very interesting that they are a symbol of luck and friendship, but are detrimental to water ways they swim in and are responsible for destroying and breaking down the wild environments they enter usually on an involuntary basis. I have had many friendships where this has turned out to be the case, and I just thought it to be an ironic combination of symbolism and trueness.
